Most questions are answered below. Anything else, email us — a person answers, usually within two working days.
No, that is the normal starting point. Phone speakers barely reproduce anything under 200 Hz, so use headphones or earbuds — the difference between guessing and hearing is mostly that. Start with First Training, which isolates one band at a time.
A lesson costs one pass, and your passes are topped back up the next day — so a short wait costs nothing. Plus removes the limit entirely.
Settings → Account → Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID you bought it with. Nothing to re-pay.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → EQ Ear. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Plus until the current period ends.
There is no account to make. The app has no sign-up and no login at all — your progress is stored on your device and never leaves it. The flip side is that progress does not follow you to a new phone unless you restore an iPhone backup.
Not yet. iPhone is first, and both are planned. Email us to be told when they land.
Nothing that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no email, no name. The app does record anonymous statistics — which lessons were played and how accurate the answers were — attached to a random number, so we can tell which lessons are badly tuned. You can turn it off in Settings.
No. EQ Ear plays audio, it never records it — there is no microphone permission and no listening of any kind, including in Tempo mode, where your taps are registered as touches on the screen. The Privacy Policy sets this out in full.
No, and it is not built to. It is a training game, not a hearing test or a medical device. If you are worried about your hearing, see an audiologist. There is more on this in section 3 of the Terms of Use.
Comfortable enough that you could hold a conversation over the music, and never louder just to make a hard band audible. Take a break every twenty minutes — listening fatigue makes your answers worse anyway. See the hearing safety note in the Terms of Use.
Delete the app. Your progress, settings and passes all live on your device, so removing the app removes them — there is no account to close and no copy on our side. Separately, the app sends anonymous usage statistics; turn Share anonymous statistics off in Settings to stop that. Those records carry no identity, so they cannot be looked up individually, and they are deleted automatically within 14 months. Details in the Privacy Policy.
